I think there should be a punctuation mark that is halfway between a period and an exclamation mark. I think the above sentence looks rather flat and almost rude with a period. But really the sentiment hardly qualifies for the excitement connoted by an exclamation point. Mild animation is what one wants to convey. I guess you could write, "1/2 !"

It's so time-consuming, though1/2!
