Mike,

Keep reminding us of Iomega. Their Click! could be a huge gorilla-producing tornado.

We disagree on this one. QualComm is a founding member of the MultiMediaCard Assoc along with Sandisk, Motorola, Nokia and Ericsson. It was my research on QCOM that brought me back to SNDK. When Sandisk and Siemens raised the bar by reducing the format to the size of a postage stamp they essentially left all mechanical devices behind, both IBM & Iomega. The MMC will be off to a running start as all CF slots are home to the MMC. Siemens has introduced an inexpensive ROM MMC. As usual, most technology worth investing in has IPR issues.

Regards,
Stew

Mike,

I made reference to IOM only as an introduction to digital photography mentioned in a post by Bill Fischofer on the other thread. Please follow the links in my original post for details about flash memory as a discontinuous innovation and a brief summary of the value chain that is forming. My post has nothing to do with IOM directly and the Clik! actually is in competition with flash memory solutions. I see it as a niche product made by a chimp.

Mike,

Before we get into a discussion about digital photography maybe some thread members would like to take a look at some digital photographs to demonstrate that this technology is here and not just theoretical. I don't think it is as sexy as all the discussion about wireless technology and digital phones, but without some immersion into this arena I feel many will just click through my posts.

Sorry if this is considered off topic, but it seems like there is a bit of off topic remarks on this thread.
