In addition, while C-Cube makes chips that are used as decoders for Digital Video Devices (DVDs) and has expertise in compression technologies such as Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG2). Intel, on the other hand, is looking to add DVD, compression and other related technologies on its main processors, using software decoding.


Intel wants to add compression into their integrated chip. Who all has it today? Cube, Sony and IBM. Which is the cheapest and the best and can be easily negotiated? I would think it is Cube. Let's wait and see.
