That is true. Actually solaris is the first unix OS ported over
to merced emulator. Pretty ironic, right? And sun workstation can
run window NT as well. Seems to me, SUN treat wintel more serious
than wintel treats SUN at all front. And wintel camp just
underestimate their competition too much.

Sun announced that they have Solaris x86 up and running on a Merced Emulator (not to be confused with a real CPU like UltraSparc III or course...)
