Bill,
My understanding is that your entire post is based on an assumption that the company will go capoop in five years because the technology would be obsolete.
This is the same reason why i never understood how anyone would invest in theme restaurants, where depreciation chokes many after the hype is over.

IMO, however, this is a different case. the company can make money, or at least satisfy creditors, with more subscribers. By bringing more costumers, and therefore more revenue, they will be able to expend with new technology to go beyond the five years (though, as we know in many space technologies, what they have now can ran longer than estimates).

I just saw the company's advertisement in the latest National Geographic. i don't know how long the company had been advertising there, but would you call it a niche market? don't you think motorola with its huge cliental can market the phone to get quicker results? don't you think marketing directly to companies with international reach will bring faster results? even if I'm wrong here (I'm not a marketing wiz), there are faster ways to increase subscription and i don't understand why they waited so long to do so.

the numbers are huge, indeed, but if not for getting the 27K by the 31st, everything would have been fine. i strongly believe that their main problem lies at the top; new technology (almost if not) always comes with strings attached and that's why they are first expensive and, therefore, used by people who need it the most.

i very much appreciate your post, as no matter what one's position may be (long/short), it's always critical to analyze the good and the bad. However, this company has been flooded with so much bad publicity that it signals a bottom -- especially after i read some news reports where they basically said "i have told you so!" --too much optimistic in their thinking.

i have to say that i have no intentions of holding this stock long term --no matter what i think of the company. all i'm looking is a quick 30% until reality checks in. if for any reason i feel i'm wrong, i'm likely to sell at any price. so far i think it would be better to wait a few weeks.

have a great memorial day weekend, marty
