My WAG is that this won't have any effect on Sony's PS II or Nintendo's or whoever else needs the extra juice of Rambus DRAM. This is really a blow to INTC - the borg trying to force stuff down consumer's throats, stuff we might not need today. INTC is trying to differentiate a 'commodity' (microprocessors) by upping MHz or whatever else they are up to and sometimes the rest of the minions will rebel against Mr. Borg. There were rumblings in the DRAM market for quite a while and now with IBM saying no mas, INTC is in a bit of a pickle here. As to Rambus, we will find out Monday just how much of a snafu this is going to be.
