Jim:

I bailed out of ignorance.

:-)

Simple enough explanation?

Cheers, and have a good holiday weekend!

week after week, month after month, quarter after quarter......

Fidelity Selects: Biotch 41.36 45.49 27.01 -0.2%
Franklin Class A: BioDisA 23.57 26.52 17.68 -0.6%
Franklin Class A: GlHlthA 13.88 18.22 12.86 -2.0%
AMEX Biotechnology Index. 201.010 +0.4%
Dow Jones 30 Industrials. 10,559.74 -2.4%
Nasdaq Biotech Index..... 489.55 +1.1%

How can anyone perform so poorly for so long?

Squandering OPM!

I will make this point again and again until the sector returns to
financial health..... several individuals at SI do just fine in this
sector. They do so by differentiating "big science" companies from
"big talker" companies. It isn't that difficult, but you do need to
be able to differentiate good science from bad.

The sector has a bad rep, not because there isn't huge potential and
tangible progress, but because, somehow, the least discriminating of
money managers became the conduit for Joe Public's investments.
