The problem with the statement "everyone is an artist" is that if makes the word "artist" unnecessary.

By the same token then so are the words art critic, as it seems that everyone is.

I am an engineer, and during engineering school, the faculty subjected us to "sketch" class before they taught us drafting. It was based on the left brain -- right brain theory. One of the exercises we did was drawing Einstien's photo upside down. It was amazing how well that came out.

I am convinced that the LB-RB theory is correct, but I also know that I am hopelessly left-brain oriented, and will never be an artist. I must create through engineering stuff in the physical world rather than just putting it down in some form of media.
