Fred,

AMAT the stock has been falling short of my expectations --- as much as 20% short --- but that's because I've been unfairly raising my expectations for fear of underestimating the stock like what happened in 1995 when I flatfootingly and agonizingly watched the stock climbed from 63 to 120!

Sometimes you see me disappointed, not because of the stock's performance but because of my repeated inability to fully gain from a sure thing.

To me AMAT is the Ultimate stock. It is the leader of a group of companies that do not fight each other via cutting prices of their goods --- to survive. Instead, their goods are a must to own for other companies --- for Them to survive. AMAT will continue to dominate until it ceases to exist as when it's eaten by a bigger fish or until BioTechnology or another Science yet to be born find ways to let CHIPs or the equivalent clone themselves or bear their own children... Other stocks perform less in a Bull Market --- like going from 60 to 140, just more than a double; for AMAT, 20 to 100 is 5 times and Great!... and with LEAPs, 20 times is possible and Excellent --- by using History as a Guide...
