i assumed that this is another day like
the "President day" or something.

In Canada, remembering those who have fallen during the war, and our loved ones, we celebrate their memories each year on 'Remembrance Day', November 11th (representing the official day that WWI ended). Although, 'Remembrance Day' is not a national holiday, inwhich it oughta be. You americans do it right!
