First off, be sure you don't start confusing me with someone who actually knows what they're talking about. I'm just spouting my opinions and suspicions.

I haven't checked out the currently available "portable internet" devices, but I would guess that the smallest and most purpose-built units have much less than a CE operating system.

Certainly the "all-in-one" tablet computers would use something like CE, but I'm not interested in carrying around a pocket tablet. I want something smaller, something that uses less battery power. Stripped down for competition. I only want cellphone and email access, and internet downloadability, but not spreadsheet, photo editor, or CAD system accessibility. That's what home and office PCs are for.

Maybe CE will find use in most internet portables, but presently I expect there is a cheaper alternative which will show it's face soon enough.

I agree, and I see purpose for higher-level devices like these, but mainly in industry. I believe it's why Xybernaut and their patents have value long-term.
