Intermagnetics Appoints Robert Sokolowski to Corporate Market Development Position New Position To Focus On Business Expansion Opportunities June 3, 1999 11:08 AM LATHAM, N.Y., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Intermagnetics General Corporation (Amex: IMG) today announced the appointment of Dr. Robert S. Sokolowski to Vice President of Market Development for Intermagnetics' Advanced Superconductors, Magnet Business Group and Technology Development divisions. Sokolowski will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Glenn H. Epstein and is charged with the responsibility of identifying and quantifying new markets for the those divisions. The divisions are among some of most important within the company and include applications for the company's ultra high-field superconductors (such as KSTAR), innovative magnet designs (such as FT-ICR and 300mm silicon crystal pullers) and high temperature superconductor (HTS) materials and applied devices. Sokolowski, 46, brings to Intermagnetics a career-long focus in the field of materials science sharpened through his extensive experience with Olin Corporation, Allied Signal and NASA. In 1992, Sokolowski joined Intermagnetics as Program Manager of the High Temperature Superconductor development operation and was promoted to Vice President/General Manager of IGC-Advanced Superconductors located in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1996. In this most recent position, Sokolowski was responsible for the full operation and technical direction for the entire Waterbury division. Sokolowski's academic background includes B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Engineering, a B.S. in German and an MBA in Management. His linguistic skills include fluency in Japanese in addition to German. Sokolowski will reside in the Albany, New York area with his wife and teenage children.
