Re: "Intel is now hyping: Non-existent Merced"

Scumbria,

Do you think the $200M IA-64 VC fund was phantom money too? :)

Scumbria,

"Intel is now hyping :

Non-existent Merced
Non-existent Willamette
Non-existent Timna
Non-existent Camino/DRDRAM

Quite a line up of vaporware!!"

A lot of people on this board may not have been around to realize this but the last time Intel did something like this was in mid-80s. Remember "Crush"? At that Mot wasn't prepared and the software issue probably preordained that they lose.

Begin of Merced's hype so close to K7 release could very well be the tell tale sign in this whole deal. I am expecting to see a lot more of this over the next few weeks/months.

I am sure there will be many marketing case studies written about this "Crush-2". Time will tell if this is going to work.

Chuck

We'll add those to the non-existent Kmart 63 and the Kslop 7 that you have been hyping.
