I have noticed internet posts lately that question whether G* even works or not! Remember that there is a LEO CDMA system for the military(DISCUS I believe) that uses similar technology. As for the Justice Department investigation and what might come of it--I think it would be odd for them to prosecute Loral at a time when SS/L is supposedly working on "top secret" military applications! Kind of a common sense thing. Loral vs. Hughes---this is not a fair comparison since DirecTV accounts for a significant portion of Hughes' value. Loral, unfortunately, has no part in the lucrative DBS business. I have made a "synthetic Hughes" by purchasing Loral and DISH, and would expect them to outperform Hughes in the long run without the tracking stock troubles and without a relationship with GM(ick).
