Karl, <<draw air tight patents>> There's no such thing, trust me. If economics warrant, there's almost always a work around especially in chemical process. Your other statement about other secret sauce aspects that work with the patent portion must be revealed to show reduction to practice, they must be disclosed. Your comments suggest to me that the patent is not particularly important to the actual process. A lot like Hewlett's more recent patents. The value for patent maybe more psychological than real IMO.

PS, another thought. Do you really think that a chemical process that can be conducted in Mike's garage would escape the understanding and skill level of a major's scientific staff?
