"Watch and Wait", or "Wait and watch" or "Wait and Wait", or "Watch and Watch" or, oh, the hell with it!

LindyBill has the right idea. W&W stands for watch and wait. It's a term I picked up at the dentist's office; if he spotted a tooth that looked like it might a problem, he'd tell the dental assistant to mark it W&W on my chart. The next time back, he'd take a real close look at it, tell me it needed a root canal and a crown, and beat me out of $800.
