Gene, it may not be a big problem as long as the stock price is going up. This is why options on Dell had been the most active during the past 4 years. Like many said before, this is the only sport where a player can bet on his own game. Now the stock has been going down, I wonder if Dell continues to sell puts and buy calls.

All these option buying and selling do not affect the income statement but they are in one form cost to pay for employees. Again, as long as the stock goes up, everything is good. But stocks don't go up forever. (Law of very large number)

A friend of mine just started working at Dell with his options priced at 45, now the stock is at 34. He's totally pissed.
