Tony,

"Speaking of the K7, any idea when AMD will have all the infrastructure parts ready
for it, like chipsets, motherboards, and, maybe even a power supply?"

"Trivial things, power supplies, often overlooked until just before product release
time (by some companies)."

I do not think there are any significant problems at this stage. But like a lot of INTC owners (I used to be one till a couple of weeks back) I will believe it when I see it.

Regarding the power issues: I think too much is being made out of this issue. Many folks do not seem to take into account that these boards were put together to test K7 upto 700 MHz. I am not a power supply guy but I would think that something designed for 700MHz would have plenty of margin at 550 at 600. As far as I can tell there are no substantial issues at 550. In my experience, there will always be a few things that gets revised well after a product gets released but I am not aware of any show stoppers on that aspect.
