<<They say that they have been showing samples for several years and name some of the recipients. Well, if they showed samples for a long time and and they still don't have any orders I have to conclude that there is some resistance.>>

William, there may well be resistance. But the fact that they've been showing samples for years does not necessarily prove there is resistance. The big hurdle has been the ability to mass-produce the product.

As of April 98, Lev said they would be not be able to manufacture in "really high" volume until 1999.

As of last August, they were still finishing a "complete redesign" (in Lev's words) of their first assembly line.

As of the end of the year, they had not yet shipped samples "in earnest."

The lack of OEM orders to date is due to the fact that they have been unable (to date) to mass produce product that meets OEM specifications (IMO). From all the circumstantial evidence of late, it appears they now are able to mass-produce product. A PO will be the confirmation of this circumstantial evidence.

Bill, I would suspect a main reason they haven't major orders from domestic manufacturers lies in the fact that the real issue is getting the manufacturing process right so they can produce in quantity. Its one thing to produce a product in small quantities that meet certain technical specs. It is quite another to produce in the large quantities that someone like Motorola would demand. While I certainly don't know for sure, the main reason for the delay has been in getting the kinks out of the manufacturing process. Now that they have (witness the Hanil announcement), they can go to the OEMs and say they can manufacture in quantity and still meet the necessary technical specs.
