Tony, "Sounds like the Firing Squad doesn't think the power issue is trivial. " If you are implying that I am saying the power issue is trivial - I am not! I am not even saying there are no problems. I am saying "I am not aware of any show-stopper issues". Now, being a fairly neutral observer and having no prior exposure to Firing's Squad's work, I can tell you that I am not impressed with their K7 review. I find it hard to take anything meaningful out of that review and I think they muddied their reputation more with their "update". "I personally think it's amazing AMD let that kludge get out of their labs for all the world to see. They should have had a real, production quality power supply, in a case, made by Delta, or ACDC, or Lambda, or Ceag, or any of several other quality power supply vendors, in that picture. Hey, even if it is a trivial thing, which it isn't, that picture sure won't give a warm, fuzzy feeling to potential customers' engineering folks that realize that good power design is of utmost importance. " I have no idea what AMD is giving out to their "key" customers. IMHO, what the other non-key customers see will have no bearing on the immediate future. In any case, based on their limited people resources, fab capacity and early-0.25u-K7 yields, I don't think they can support more than a handful of customers. Others will have to wait till things are more solid. From what I gather that is happening "now". So, let's wait till Anand, Tom or some other credible entity do the reviews and see what they have to say. Chuck
