Should be interesting to see if this triggers a similar move by the other banks. Remember about 15 months ago this bank and Bank of Montreal started the Canadian bank merger mania that eventually got shot down by Uncle Paul. (the finance minister) Don't believe Y2K was an impetus for that move, but it would have been interesting to watch if the mergers were allowed to proceed as to how Y2K compliance would be obtained at the same time that two disparate IT systems are being merged.

It should also be interesting to see if the politicos put their fingers in this pie.
