Hi All, I came across an interesting startup. They are NOT an IPO, they plan on starting business in September. They are starting with private funds. I found the concept intriguing.

The company will replenish household items through the Internet. Each member will have a small barcode reader. The readers are the size and shape of a very large pen. The customer will walk around the house, and use the barcode reader on products that they need more of. The products range from canned goods, Health and Beauty articles, office supplies, pharmaceuticals or any other product with a barcode. The customer logs on to the site and drops the reader into a cradle. The data is read. The products are pulled, and shipped.

The prices will include shipping. They are projecting prices to be 5-6% below retail. They will sell the convenience aspect. Items that you purchase regularly, e.g. laundry detergent, toilet paper, cereal will be automatically delivered, if the customer chooses. They will even take, or apply coupons.

I am not trying to start a thread. I know this is off the subject. I just found the idea, concept interesting. I hope others do.
