We do have moss in our back yard. And I have the devil of a time getting grass to grow back there. Thought it was the heavy shade from the oak trees. But now that you mention it, clay is acid, isn't it, and the oak leaves are acid, too. No wonder.

I have put garden lime back there from time to time, but we only rent, and I feel foolish spending money on the lawn.
