About daSlinger - Here is email received from a user today posted with his permission concerning how well it works...Understand, I am biased on the issue, as I developed the software, frequently updated to implement user suggestions. I have previously been silent about it here, but it just so happened that I received this email today which coincided with your question about why doesn't everybody use it. I think the answer to that is that it has previously spread by word of mouth only and we haven't rolled out any real marketing effort...(If we happen to come by $50 million we will hire a dog to hold our logo in Wired magazine, but only after we add servers to handle the increase in traffic)..Please be aware that there are a few free alternate interfaces out there as well you might want to view before settling on daSlinger. I wish we had settled on a real name before it took off... The servers do crash for everyone the same, but one of the advantages of daSlinger is the ability to quickly navigate to another server very quickly by pushbutton. Here is the email that came today: ________________ What a piece of crap software. Talk about unusable. The guy that wrote this trash ought to be made to... Hey Wayne --- LOLOL !!! Just kidding !!! But now that I've got your attention :-) I just wanted to let you know I used daSlinger to trade all last week and I really can't imagine now why ANYBODY would continue to use the standard Datek stuff when they could use your daSlinger instead !!! Like I said before, I'm just getting started and I'm not the super-hyperactive trader yet, but last week I entered 5 Buys, 7 Sells, and 21 orders I cancelled, for a total of 33 daSlinger processed orders, all without problem one, and I was ALWAYS ready for the Contra-Trade without the slightest pause or concern.... attaboys, accolades, rah-rah-rah, etc. etc. etc. Regards, John Hawken P.S. Has anybody ever asked for a “Print” button ?? Whenever I enter a trade, before I do anything else (like hit the refresh button) I wait till I get the Datek “You entered an order!” message with the order description & Transaction #, and then I quickly select a bit of the message with my mouse (to select the message frame) and hit [CTRL-P] [ENTER] to send the message to my printer, so I have a record of the trade and the Transaction # just in case something happens and I have to reconstruct my actions later. Now maybe I'm the only one who does this during his trading, and so the need is much less than the demand, but there is this unused space up in the top right corner of daSlinger where a “PRINT” button could fit without hurting anybody... what do ya think ?? :-) __________ It's not for everyone, but it hits the spot for many. Good trading! Wayne wdurden@sapphirebay.comsapphirebay.com
