I believe this has something to do with timing as well. It is the
advance in fab process that makes these integration attractive(and
inevitable).

No one would try PCOAC with a .35 process but with .18 and lower,
that is one way to suck up the added capacity.

How much money has it made Cyrix and NSM combined?
