Hi Haim; I doubt I get into the bond trading game, it's just to
much for me to have to deal with in the time I have.
If I do any thing with bonds in the future it will be to use
a CEF , I like PPT ..and with her I can margin the full 50%
( I would never go that far as I figured a 10% drop in price
could put you in bad shape if fully margined.)
I do use margin but it's most often very short term , mostly
a day trade as that cost me nothing.
----------------
Since I started using margin I've only had one notice of needing
to make a deposit, but I was out of the trade before the notice
even arrived. There are days I max out long and or short,
but I'm out almost always that same day, when not I'm at least
reduced to 25% by the end of the day.
My trading is complicated enough for me to keep up with , and
if I start doing raw bonds I'll likely get confused maybe even on
my other trades, so a bond fund is about my limit.
Jim
PS
PPT is paying over 9% right now.
