The people, the smiles and the slow pace. we moved there in 1998, to a small working village, on Phuket Island, after going there every winter for 4 years (of vacationing). I sold my consulting practice, due to burn out...was taking a year off, learning about online investing and beachcombing (there are similarities!!).<< Well my friend, your story seems destined for a Discovery Brokerage commercial. LOL If you haven't seen them in your part of the world, they feature (fictional and very funny) stories of everyday people (tow truck drivers, bartenders, etc.) who have made fortunes trading on-line, and have bought islands and big corporations etc. So now you have the ideal life. You gave up the rat race, you now live on an island in Thailand, you walk the beach and you are teaching yourself about investing. I bet that there are many people reading this now who envy you!!
