It is hard to criticize ABX. I don't happen to like their hedging program, but I recognize it is necessary in order to provide what they think is important: a stable top line. They are conservative. They wish to pay dividends and reduce stock price volatility. If the FED had not reverted back to interest rate targeting, I would never be involved with precious metals. When they did that they forced prudent money managers to carry some gold in their portfolios. ABX is just one way to address that need.
