Mark, very nice step-by-step, but where's your handy dandy battery powered electronic stud detector???????

Mark, OT - Cabinet installation...

A couple of variations on the theme...I drew a light pencil line where I wanted the bottom of the cabinets and cut a 2x4 three inches longer than the height from the floor to the bottom of the cabinets (used to support the cabinet against the wall. (Use your foot for adjustment).

Put the cabinets up once...Use the battery powered drill to drill the pilot (and countersink) into the cabinet and use your handy corded 1/2 in DeWalt to screw the cabinets into the studs; it has enough power to skip the pilots in the studs. Liquid soap works as well as vaseline and it's easier to cleanup.

Cover the pencil marks with the bottom of the cabinets there isn't any patching or repainting required. Three cabinets up in about an hour and a half.

Best Regards,
Jim

P.S. Of course I had my electronic stud finder...
