So, you are convinced that HyperTV will become a de facto standard... However, I will be more confident when HyperTV will be known as the best solution in the market. I have too often seen the best technology fail in the market for all sorts of bad reasons. Yes, if HyperTV make it big in the market, AT&T/Liberty/ACTV will have a better chance to get it adopted as a standard. Yet, I think Comcast and those who did no invest in ACTV will call for an "open" standard. After all, the same thing happened with HDTV. At first, every major player had its proud champion, but in the end, they all agreed on a common standard.
