There has been some talk about Ampex being relisted on the Russell 2000 Index(Yahoo board curiouswalker). Here is some information on when and how they form the Index. Any thoughts on if we will make it and how many shares will be bought because of relisting? Chris russell.com To maintain indexes that are truly representative of the US equity market, Frank Russell Company annually rebalances the Russell family of indexes. Each year on May 31, Russell ranks the 3,000 largest US stocks by market capitalization. After the initial list of 3,000 eligible participants is determined, the shares outstanding for each company are adjusted for corporate cross-ownership and large private holdings. Therefore, the Russell Indexes include only the investable portion of the universe-that segment in which investors can freely transact shares. On June 11, 1999 (after 6:00 p.m. PDT), Russell will publish the preliminary additions and deletions for the Russell 3000 Index. As we continue to research securities, a revised preliminary list of additions and deletions will be available on June 18, 1999 (after 6:00 p.m. PDT), and again on June 25 (after 6:00 p.m. PDT). The final list of additions and deletions will be available here on July 7, 1999. After July 9, the final membership lists for the Russell 3000 Index, Russell 2000 Index and Russell 1000 Index (alphabetically, without shares) will be available on this web site or by contacting Russell.
