Why is anyone trying to dissolve pearls in oil and vinegar, anyway? Don't you know that pearls have been cultivated to the point that the oysters are more susceptible to disease, and that there is a lot of environmental damage around pearl beds? In fact, they are becoming more and more expensive and scarce, as the cost to produce them increases.

Anyway, save the pearls from the salad dressing or something!
