Inspiron 7000 lid latches

I have two latches at the top of my screen. They're made of metal and seem sturdy enough. The two hinges at the bottom are about two inches wide. The case opens and closes smoothly and has a sturdy feel. I don't anticipate any problems with the mechanical aspects of this machine.

Cheers, PW

Plen,
I had my inspiron's latch broken twice now. I had sent
it to service center to get it fixed first time. It took 2 weeks
for them to get it fixed. Second time I didn't because
of busy schedule. Did you get your laptop fixed ? How much
time are they taking these days.. Is it worth it now ? I am
using a rubber band now.
