I've always run with the meaning "distribution from strong hands to weak hands".

Since there is always a buyer and always a seller in any transaction, "who" is important.

My lecture response to you JGoren was a nice way of saying that technical analysis is Voodoo (and other words not permitted on SI). Sorry you were offended by the diplomatic way of saying it-- was actually trying to save you money.
