Do you think the torturers themselves ever suffer because of the dim life they choose to lead? Does that count for anything?

I don't imagine their victims would get much consolation out of that prospect.

There are people who enjoy inflicting pain, and they naturally move into roles where they can indulge that fetish. I suspect that many torturers enjoy what they do, which is why they do it.

Andy, Noone is beyond redemption in a religious senses. In the Gospel of Matthew, read Chapter 25, Verses 31-46, called "The Judgment of the Nations".

But Jesus also said "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" (i.e., obey secular laws of the state- don't go looting, pillaging, and killing).

Do we (USA) have an "end game" to end this war? I can't see a happy ending if Russian or Chinese troops are a significant part of the UN Mission/Force in Kosovo....In fact the presence of UN forces will prevent any future bombing, as if any piece of the Country of significance is still standing anyway....

My uncle once said, "give a 20-year old male a rifle and take him away from his mother and all kinds of atrocities can happen." He was speaking of the Japanese armies of the '30s in China but doesn't it apply pretty much everywhere?

Your uncle is a mighty wise man.

<< If so, isn't it dangerous to categorize someone as being "subhuman" based upon their actions? >>

If you find someone who was born with predatory genes and without the possibility of compassion towards others, it is the general population that is in danger. These "subhuman" killing machines don't care how they are categorized.

<< Is anyone beyond redemption? >>

Absolutely. Just as people are born with physical differences, they are also born with mental differences. For instance, those that are born with the inclination to enjoy the killing of children are beyond redemption. Would you want to enjoy an eternity in Heaven sitting next to someone who enjoyed murdering hundreds of children?

<< If a person can be redeemed but they're currently "subhuman," do they become "human" again once they're redeemed? >>

It is possible, thru brain washing, to create a person that acts in a subhuman way. This happens all the time, in North Korea, in Germany before WWII. Surely these people might be good candidates for redemption.

People should be judged by their actions. Slob and Dog Face Milosevic are the worst kind of subhuman scum. They were blessed with the power over a nation of people. But, instead of doing good for the people, they stole from the Serb people and plunged the nation into ten years of war. They are racist, subhuman tyrants. I could care less if they ever get redemption. I just want to see them removed from the earth as soon as possible so that decent people don't have to share this earth with them.

<< Do you think the torturers themselves ever suffer because of the dim life they choose to lead? Does that count for anything? >>

It depends upon your values and how important you feel about protecting innocent families. Where do you prefer to spend your effort, building strong families with good values, or trying to make torturers feel better about themselves?

What about garbage like Saddamn Hussein and Fidel Castro? These subhumans live lives of wealth and greed while their people suffer. How much time should we spend caring about their feelings? Shouldn't we spend more time caring about the hundreds of thousands of families that suffer because of these selfish subhumans?

<< I'm just happy I've never become one of those sadists, but I can certainly see the traits within myself. It's been said that the Nazis for instance were a certain type of person that the rest of us are not. I'm fairly certain though that the capacity for cruelty exists in most, if not all of us. >>

I don't agree. I believe that some men and women are born without the capacity for cruelty, while others are born with too much of a capacity for cruelty. No two people are exactly alike. No two people have the exact same capacity for cruelty. No two people are born with the exact capacity to enjoy killing children.

<< Can you see any of this or is it a waste of time on my part? Are these points invalid? >>

You probably feel that this is a waste of time, but your points are not invalid, they are subjective.
