* A negative article on Amazon.com (AMZN) in Barron's is weighing on
the stock in after-hours trading. AMZN has slipped $7 3/4 to $111
on Instinet this morning.
* Liberty Media Group (LMGA) is purchasing Associated Group (AGRPA)
in a $3 billion stock transaction. Each Associated share will be exchanged
for 0.6206 of a share of Liberty Media Class A common stock and 0.4727
of a share of AT&T (T) common stock.

* Crompton & Knowles (CNK) and Witco Corp (WIT) plan to merge in a
stock swap and debt assumption deal totaling nearly $2 billion. Each
CNK share will be exchanged for one share of the newly formed C&K
Witco while each WIT shareholder will receive 0.9242 shares of the
new firm.

* E*Trade Group (EGRP) entered a definitive agreement to purchase
Telebanc Financial Corp (TBFC), a financial Internet bank, in a stock
swap transaction valued at $1.8 billion. Under terms of the deal,
each Telebanc share will be exchanged for 2.1 shares of EGRP.

* First Data Corp (FDC) announced plans to sell its Donnelley Marketing
unit to InfoUSA (IUSAB) for $200 million in cash.
