Your garden sounds wonderful, except for the zucchini. I have never understood the point of zucchini, to me it tastes like water. I do like other squash, especially the yellow ones. Interesting tip about the black plastic, I am dithering on what to use, the plastic would have the virtue of almost completely preventing the soil from drying out, which looks like it will be a problem here for the foreseeable future. It has been quite dry. I guess we have similar climates, if you are in Piedmont North Carolina.

Unfortunately we rent, have been looking for the ideal house, closer to Chris' job, as his commute takes over an hour each way, but with at least 1/4 acre yard. I really want a house in Fairfax City. There just is not much on the market these days.

Mr/Ms T, you've FRIGHTENED ME! Are tomatoes safe to eat?

Are gardeners safe to be around? You said, "you have to keep pinching out the suckers!" Do you mean tomatoes or people like me?
