Ian, first, Stitch is not just any poster, he is based in the far east and so far, I had no reason to doubt his sources, for a good year or so. Second, my post was not based on Stitch's but the data provided in your source, namely, a total of 115 Billion yen semi capex for NEC and a total of 40 billion yen of this for DRAM expansion. The small calculation I went through indicates that Stitch sources might be correct, after all some $320 MM to gain at least $1.2 Billions in additional sales can be considered a relatively "low level" investment.

Ian,
I have had probably 2 years of extensive experience with Stitch on the drive, Asian and other threads, and can tell you that he doesn't play games with facts, and he doesn't bullshit. He might be wrong at times, as he would be the first to tell you, but he would not knowingly spread falsehoods.

FWIW.
Sam
