Zeev,

Timna an interesting name, is that indication that INTC is going to use copper in lieu of aluminum? Timna happen to be the name of the old Solomon copper mines.

I think the name was given by the Israeli design team who are doing the Timna integration. Besides the Holy Land connection, it may be a play on the 0.18u PIII named "Coppermine".

Can someone repost the list of all the acronyms and what they stand for, I am starting to get confused: DRAM, RDRAM, DRDRAM, DDR DRAM, DDRII DRAM, SDRAM, SRAM etc.

DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory)
-A general name for all dynamic rams.

RDRAM (Rambus Dynamic Random Access Memory)
DRDRAM (Direct Rambus Dynamic Random Access Memory)
-Rambus products. DRDRAM is the one which the debate is raging about.

DDR SDRAM (Double Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory)
SDRAM (Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory)
-Rambus' competition.

SRAM (Static Random Access Memory)
-Fast static memory. Everyone would use this if the cost and power consumption were lower.
