Hate to hog the board...but nobody's here!.. Also in Barron's this week is a piece from good old Alan Abelson on a "rational" reason why Net.bank has dropped from 60 to 42 (PE of 243)and why Telebanc has dropped from 92 to 66 (PE of a mere 264). The analysis he quoted stated that one of the reasons is competition, in that "1000 online rivals will appear by the end of the year." My hunch is that added "volume" can only be good news for CKFR...Maybe this stuff is catching on.....

On the other hand, with history on my side, I have found I make more money shorting Alan's buys and buying his shorts....

I find Barron's to be a contrary indicator.

There is no doubt that AMZN has a high valuation but how are you supposed to value a company that is going whole hog on this giant land grab called the Internet. Bravo for a company that will delay earnings for more 'land'. Think, Monopoly(game) first couple of rounds. Not sure of the exact numbers but I believe that since opening their music store they now have more sales than the previous #1 music store CDNow. That says something to me. Personally, I find there is a sudden effect from a Barron's article and then it is sometimes best to go contrary. IMHO
