I've hunted from a permanent stand a couple of times with a bow. Usually I just looked for a large oak. I didn't bow hunt much but out of the two deer I shot with a bow I made the best was shot from a brush pile on the ground. I've always been on the ground with a gun. Move, wait, move, wait. Had good luck at it.
