Yuk. This isn't a traditional doc. I went to one of those when it got real bad and got sent off with pain pills and muscle relaxants. No bright ideas about rehab. Just a bunch of pills. The pain pills got thrown out, eventually, having never been opened. Since I was hauling hay the next day, I did eat some of the muscle relaxants. They got me through hay hauling, then I went I tossed them and went to a doc that would give me positive options. I can understand people taking pain pills for things, but they wipe me out, and it seemed that there were surely better long range options than eating those the rest of my life. The muscle relaxants took the edge off, but they made me tired. I'd only take them again if I was having a real bad episode. It's reached the point where I only have to do a little maintanence to keep the pain away and continue work on the strength aspect. And I always listen to CB. <g>

<<Dr.'s don't know everything.>>

No kidding, Mel? I get the now that you are 50 you need to be treated for x, y, and z. I ask "you want to test for that first?" Then I get the everyone who is 50 has x, y, and z. Tests show I'm quite healthy and tough enough to kick the doc's ass.

5 years ago I was told I was terminal but with enough pills I might last a year. Arteries clogging like a slow drain. 3 opinions. Didn't take the pills and recently had a stress test and cardiac echo. No sign of heart disease. The opinions were based on the chlorestral levels but I have the gene where those levels don't count.
