thanks for the advice. i'll definitely try the new urls (dont use aol) and will check out webstreet. the problems i have with etrade are not so much with logging on, because i can do this pretty easily before the market opens, or even with their executions, but with getting orders placed while the market is open when i can't get their order placing and/or confirmation screens to work in any reasonable amount of time if at all. and this is with a cable modem, so i know it aint me. i notice that etrade is redoing the site, but i suspect this is more cosmetic than functional. thanks again
