don,
there have been 2 new anti-rambus themes. production shortfalls or non-availability and cost which would keep drdram out of the high volume low end market.

here is the latest rdram production schedule as announced by the companies listed here.

samsung...500,000 per month since february. 5 million per month beginning in june. june is tomorrow. also, samsung said 2 weeks ago that they have the production capacity and can increase to satisfy the entire world drdram demand for 1999. so much for insufficient production.

micron...mu is completing testing now. they announced they will be in volume drdram production 4th quarter.

nec...they just announced that they will be producing 2.3 million high density drdrams per month 1st quarter.

toshiba...they have produced rdram for years. they are producing drdram 64 and 128 now. toshiba and sony are spending $1 billion dollars on a new drdram production facility to be up and running this year so they can jack up production.

oki...oki just announced that they will begin producing drdrams in the near future.

a few more comments...
the ceo of sony said last month that ddr is unstable and committed sony to rambus via toshiba.
the ceo of matsushita said 2 months ago that they are designing an entire array of consumer products that will use drdram.

you can easily verify this. go to each companies web site and do a search for news releases or rambus.

do you think all of these companies are in this kind of production mode without orders? there is something going on here. what is it?
the predicted rambus production ramp is here now.

these drdrams are pre-sold someone has big big rambus drdram
plans.

finally intc announcing, last friday, the plan for rambus in the low end computers blows out that argument.

and don have you noticed volume is increasing? you told us that is why you have been buying again.

Speaking of stock splits. Wonder what the magic number is for Rambus before they'd entertain a split? Probably well north of $100. Probably a ways off yet.
