Over to Mike Jacobs, the company historian, CEO and founder. And while you're at it, ask him how he got the name Pyng! I've been trying to find out for four years.

Dear AriKirA, Pyng Technologies Corp. was indeed founded in 1988 and has two subsidiaries, Pyng Medical and Canadian Custom Profiles Ltd.
The patents held by Pyng Medical are our own. We do not have to pay royalties to anyone. We did have an agreement a long time ago with the University of California on another I/O device but we have long since abandoned that for the FAST1 and have no connection with the U ofC.
