The issue of the skeletons is one that we discussed at some length on the "Feelies" thread, and I had downloaded some articles off the Internet, which were pretty interesting. I think, by and large, your comments are accurate, at least in general, there are laws that require the reburial of Indian skeletons. Although these skeletons may not be Indian, of course. But, I also understand that individual American Indians are interested in learning the truth about the prehistory of the Americas. So the story isn't over yet.

With respect to Homer, I remember learning in college, a million years ago, that the Illiad must have been a concatenation of different epic poems, because the armor, described in much detail, was clearly from different eras, e.g., iron age and bronze age. Homer isn't disrespected, but it's difficult to know how much weight to give the facts stated in the epics.

Merrit,
You mean Chenowith Man. Actually 10,000 years old. Not as cool as Encino man but hey who can really tell. Anyway if it turns out he really was a Caucasian do we get to own casinos to? This whole episode proves that if roles had been reversed the natives would have stomped on us just as bad. People are all basically clan oriented and have no problem killing off those not their own.
