When I want real peasant Italian food (southern) I go the the North End of Boston. Just about any little dive in that section sets a great table with a lot of fresh local seafood featured. Believe it or not we now have a great Northern Italian style restaurant in Manchester, NH called Cafe Pavone (peacock). We just had dinner there tonight. I had a wood grilled stuffed calamari over semolina linguine with fire roasted red peppers and pine nuts. If you are ever in Manchester, be sure to try it. JLA
