ATI RAGE Mobility(TM)-P mobile graphics accelerator selected by Fujitsu for new FMV ''Biblo'' range of notebook PCs

First design win for ATI's second generation mobile graphics accelerator,
the RAGE Mobility(TM)
ATI now well-placed to take the number one mobile graphics vendor
position

TORONTO, June 1 /CNW/ - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT)
announced today that Fujitsu has selected the ATI RAGE Mobility(TM)-P mobile
graphics accelerator for the new FMV-Biblo ''NE'' series of notebook PCs. This
is the first design win for the RAGE Mobility family of mobile graphics
accelerators, which includes the RAGE Mobility(TM)-M, RAGE Mobility(TM)-P, and
RAGE Mobility(TM)-M1.
''The RAGE Mobility family of mobile accelerators is a crowning
achievement for ATI, providing the industry's most sophisticated integrated
design, and delivering the feature set our OEM customers told us they need to
make notebook PCs true desktop replacements,'' said KY Ho, President and CEO,
ATI Technologies Inc. ''RAGE Mobility will build on the market share
established by the RAGE LT PRO, and take ATI to the number one mobile graphics
market share spot.''
RAGE Mobility-P is used in the Fujitsu FMV-Biblo ''NE'' notebook PC
series matched with the latest Intel(R) mobile processors, including
Celeron(TM) 333 and 366MHz, and Pentium(R) II 366MHz configurations.
Fujitsu has also selected the ATI RAGE(TM) LT PRO for the new FMV-Biblo
''NR'' notebook PC, matched with an Intel(R) Celeron(TM) 333 MHz mobile
processor.

The RAGE Mobility family: ATI first to bring the latest in desktop
standards for features and performance to the notebook PC

RAGE Mobility graphics accelerators deliver to mainstream notebook PCs
the 3D, 2D and DVD performance previously only available with high-end
systems, while delivering industry-leading power, performance and space-saving
integration. The high-performance RAGE Mobility-P configuration sets the
absolute industry standard for no-compromise mobile graphics performance.
RAGE Mobility accelerators feature a unique ''single component graphics
sub-system solution'' that replaces the need for over six individual chips for
memory and graphics functions. Industry-leading 2D/3D graphics engines,
hardware MPEG-2 decode for DVD, TV encoder, dual LVDS transmitters, full
screen ratiometric scaling are integrated into the design of RAGE Mobility, as
well as electro-magnetic interference (EMI) reduction techniques, resulting in
important cost, space and power consumption savings.
RAGE Mobility-M includes 4MB of integrated SDRAM while the RAGE
Mobility-M1 packs 8MB of integrated memory. Mobility-P features a flexible
memory configuration, with up to 8MB of external SDRAM or SGRAM available.
With this unparalleled range of components, OEMs can meet every market price
and performance point. All RAGE Mobility components are pin-compatible within
the family, as well as with the RAGE LT PRO.
