JohnG and thread - This China phobia is getting out of hand. 1. China was our ally in WWll. They lost an ubelievable number of people fighing our mortal enemy. To put it perspective the total dead in the whole of the Balkans never mind Kosovo are tiny compared to the numbers that the Chinese suffered and those families concerend are still suffering. The Chinese were helping the US which was in mortal danger and had its vital national interests at stake (that is if you include attacking the US fleet and sinking its capital ships and planning to invade the West coast as vital national interests). The US and Britain have no national interest never mind vital national interest anywhere in the Balknans and never will have and never have had. Those that started and financed the KLA have every interest in starting war on the European mainland and involivng the US. They have so far succeeded. They will not prevail in the long run. The Chinese have long memories and do not forget that we stood shoulder to shoulder beside them during that great trial. Most Chinese that I have met like the US and like America. They are very proud of their heritage and rightly so but they like the US and are friendly disposed towards it. China is a friend, a very good friend but in its part of the World is intends to be No 1 and so what. China over the long terms has porved that it is very good for the progress of mankind.
