My fear is that Russia lacks that "best and brightest 5 percent" from which they'll need to build the future.>>> It goes much deeper than that...after 1917 Revolution and Civil War to follow, The Best and Brightest escaped with Remnants of White Army to Paris, Europe, Konstantinopol, and USA. Those who did not were killed during Stalin era....Best Peasants were killed or exiled into Siberia..agriculture was destroyed.... Soviet Era brought total isolation-Iron Curtain, as well as channeling of everything into the military... Now (including great hockey players) :) are all streaming-out.. It just never ends...
